These
truths ought to make you shout, 'Hallelujah!
Thank You Jesus!’
Impute – charge to
one’s account, hold against, hold responsible
Now
that you’ve been born-again, there’s a commitment from God that there will be
no more imputation of sin.
“Therefore
by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by
the law is the knowledge of sin.”
Romans 3:20 (KJV)
The Law will let you know what’s wrong with you.
“For
no person will be justified [freed of guilt and declared righteous] in His
sight by [trying to do] the works of the Law. For through the Law we become
conscious of sin [and the recognition of sin directs us toward repentance, but
provides no remedy for sin].”
Romans 3:20 (AMP)
Religious works won’t make you righteous in His
sight. The real and only reason for the Law is to get people to recognize sin
and become conscience of it because without the Law no one would know wrong
from right (be able to live up to God’s standard).
“Why,
then, the Law [what was its purpose]? It was added [after the promise to
Abraham, to reveal to people their guilt] because of transgressions [that is,
to make people conscious of the sinfulness of sin], and [the Law] was ordained
through angels and delivered to Israel by the hand of a mediator [Moses, the
mediator between God and Israel, to be in effect] until the Seed would come to
whom the promise had been made.”
Galatians 3:19 (AMP)
Sin-consciousness is a result of the Law that
came by Moses.
The Law of Moses produced sin-consciousness,
which produces guilt, condemnation and more sin.
The 10 commandments don’t make us holy. The laws
make us guilty.
The Law says, ‘whatever you get, is a result of
what you’ve done.’ In other words, ‘you get what you deserve.’ However, the new
covenant of grace says, Jesus got what we deserve and we get what He deserves!
When you’re conscience of sin, you won’t be able
to set your affections (mind) on the things above. You’ll be thinking about sin
more than about your righteousness in Christ.
“But
the Law came to increase and expand [the awareness of] the trespass [by
defining and unmasking sin]. But where sin increased, [God’s remarkable,
gracious gift of] grace [His unmerited favor] has surpassed it and increased
all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, so also grace would reign
through righteousness which brings eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 5:20-21 (AMP)
The
Law increases sin. It doesn’t get rid of it! Imperfect people can’t keep up
with perfection.
The
Law was given so that we could realize that we need Jesus as our perfection
(our Lord and Savior).
Sin-consciousness
starts the cycle of death in one’s life. [Symptom examples: Depression, stress,
condemnation, shame and guilt].
People
in ancient times in the Bible, used to live really long [700+ yrs!] They were
living in the fallen world but they were able to live long because there wasn’t
a Law at that time (before the Israelites) to be sin-conscious of.
Sadly,
the biggest problem in the Body of Christ is sin.
“For
the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the
things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year
continually make the comers thereunto perfect.” Hebrews 10:1 (KJV)
Not
perfect as in sinless, but perfection pertaining to the conscience.
“Which was a
figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and
sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining
to the conscience;”
Hebrews 9:9 (KJV)
Old
Testament sacrificial offerings would only cover one’s sins for a year.
Therefore, the people would still be sin-conscience because they knew they had
to wait another year to offer animal sacrifices to cover their future sins. It
was a repetitive cycle with no way out.
“For
then would they not have ceased to be offered? Because that the worshippers
once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.” Hebrews 10:2 (KJV)
Your conscience could never be perfect with
animal sacrifices.
Only when we’re purged of sin can we get rid of
sin-consciousness.
You can only be free of a sin-conscience
when you can believe that you’ve been forgiven and forever cleansed by the
blood of Jesus.
“And
in accordance with this will [of God] we [who believe in the message of
salvation] have been sanctified [that is, set apart as holy for God and His
purposes] through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the
Anointed) once for all.”
Hebrews 10:10 (AMP)
“For
by the one offering He has perfected forever and completely cleansed those who
are being sanctified [bringing each believer to spiritual completion and
maturity].” Hebrews
10:14 (AMP)
You and I (born-again Christians) have
been perfected and cleansed of our sins forever!
Don’t
feel holy because of your performance and behavior? Well, holiness isn’t a
feeling but rather a position. Your behavior has nothing to do with your
holiness – position in Christ. It’s all about Jesus’ behavior – finished works
on the cross.
So
now we don’t have to be sin-conscience but righteous-conscience because Jesus
took care of our sin. We don’t
have any more issues with sin. Jesus Christ isn’t coming back to deal with sin
because He said, “it is finished.”
His
body was beaten and His precious blood was shed. It’s already been done!
Now, you’re going to have to decide
whether or not you believe.
Glory to God!
Isn’t our God awesome and incredible? There’s no one like Him! Our sins have
been forgiven, so we can freely receive our healing, provisions, and every
other promise in the Bible.
I am currently
reading Joseph Prince’s book titled, ‘Destined to Reign.’ Chapter 13 is titled, ‘The
Gift of No Condemnation.’ I have been blessed by these fundamental
teachings from God’s Word. As I continually feed my spirit with the gospel of
Jesus Christ, my faith flourishes and I find more and more peace and joy! I’m
incredibly thankful for the Bible and the wisdom and understanding that God has
given us. It’s my greatest desire to see lives transformed through the Word. I
pray that I’m able to encourage you with my blogs, books, bible bracelets and
new life in Christ.
Many blessings
to you and your family in Jesus’ Name.
